of A+r "Superior". The "r" rating conveys
that Columbia Universal Life automatically reinsures all business
with Allstate Life. While this reinsurance does not create
any direct contractual relationship between Allstate Life
and individual CUL policyholders, the reinsurance does provide
Columbia Universal with financial backing from Allstate Life.
